| The free training series is open to parents or anyone who is interested. We are repeating some of the training sessions that were in high demand in the last 2 years. The training sessions will be held every other month starting in February from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The training sessions will run for 1 hour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. will be for questions and answers and for parents to network with each other. Unfortunately we are unable to provide childcare. Parents are welcome to give us feedback regarding topics you are interested in. Please email your feedback to jing@interventionsunlimited.com. Registration is required for each of the training sessions. The session may be cancelled if less than 8 people have registered one week prior to the training. Please email lisa@interventionsunlimited.com or call our office to register for any of the training sessions you are interested in attending. You can also fax or mail the registration form to our office. Free Parent Training Schedule and Topics This presentation will help parents understand why children engage in certain behaviors. The presenter will discuss strategies to promote positive behaviors and to decrease common problem behaviors such as noncompliance, tantrums, disruptive behaviors, aggression, etc. Parents will learn proven methods to toilet train their child and discuss problems they may encounter during the toilet training process. This presentation will be an introduction of our social skills training program. Parents will learn how to implement various behavioral techniques that will help your child improve his or her social behavior. The presenters will discuss strategies to promote positive behaviors in social settings, such as initiating conversations, attending to nonverbal social cues, and friendship skills. This presentation will demonstrate commonly used behavioral techniques to help children with academics skills. Parents will learn how to provide reinforcement to increase their child’s on-task behaviors and decrease maladaptive behaviors while working with their child on academic related tasks. Parents will learn how to use basic principles of reinforcement and other behavioral techniques to teach self-care skills. Parents will learn how to use prompting, prompt fading, shaping and task analysis to teach their child skills such as dressing, bathing, and grooming. This presentation will help parents understand why children engage in certain behaviors.
